Dr Jerry Horton, originally from Jacksonville, Fl., received his degree in medicine from the University of Florida in 1983. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and then entered into private practice. While practicing family medicine in Jacksonville, he became involved in HIV/AIDS care as one of the first wave of providers and clinical researchers as the HIV epidemic moved into the Southeastern United States.
Over the last decade, Dr Horton has continued his involvement with HIV/AIDS as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida at Shands in Jacksonville and while working for one of the leading HIV pharmaceutical companies. He returned to clinical medicine in 2007 and joined Orlando Immunology Center in 2008.
Dr Horton participates as a sub-investigator for many trials at Orlando Immunology Center. As a board certified family physician, Dr Horton is able to provide primary care, integrating a broader scope of comprehensive healthcare for our patients at OIC.
